When you think of boudoir photos 90% will be taken either in a bed or a sofa. But honestly: you can make boudoir anyplace. So why not in the hallway? Is it to visible? To dangerous?   I know-I know.. A boudoir is " a woman's bedroom or small private dressing room ". So it makes perfect sense in the literal meaning of classic boudoir photography. But if you think about the idea behind contemporary boudoir photography: showing suggestive, intimate, sensual, romantic, and sometimes erotic images that empower the model and make the models feel conscious, aware, mindful & good about themselves and their bodies. When the temperatures allow it, urbex locations are great fun with models. Sadly enough so many urbex locations in my region are disappearing. Hence it's a constant search for new spots without security, tourists or hazardous materials so a fearless model can safely pose amongst the decay. Truth or Dare? Allow me to choose Truth for once: I should make wày more boudoir, bodyscape, nude art & fetish art pictures than I'm doing right now. I've made some of those during the lockdowns ( Alas I only publicly post pictures that were made for expos & anonymous samples allowed for portfolio useage ) but now work, events & fairs are keeping me so busy I hardly have any time left. And in all genres ( especially for boudoir and duo-boudoir ) I feel like there's soooo much more to try. Soon we'll see how we can create more time to turn some ideas into images. For a few days humans welcome all creatures from the Darkseid.. these last decades this welcome has become a purely commercial event as have all celebrations. In Belgium there were very few let's-shoot-outdoors-in-the-sun-and-warmth -days this Summer. But when there was one outside the working moments we had to go and shoot. This series was made in the maize or corn fields near my place. And I should make some rear-side pictures. This was the reaction of the barbarian faun to the notification that Castlefest 2021 has been cancelled. We can only hope the best for Elftopia, now that Trolls-et-Legendes has postponed it's fair to 2022.  Actually.. such events have been so long that I don't even remember which kind words I should use to convince the beautifully costumed creatures from the fantasy fairs into posing for my camera. Should I Zoom or Facetime them? " Hi you on the other side of the path.. would you mind if I took a picture of your gorgeous creation? " My fear is that I'm not the only one with these questions rushing through the head and while I will try to talk to the costumed humans, some other photographers might resort to sniping from afar with 200mm to 600mm telelenses and refuel that silly <Cosplayer/Photog> feud because some not-cleary-thinking photogs caught some cosplayers unaware .. or even worse: snapped them while taking a huge bite of a sandwich. When people (m/f/x) feel comfortable showing their body, then I feel comfortable shooting their body. So there it is. Why not make some BDSM-tinted images with a macro lens, I mused? Why not make a series of images about a completely overlooked spot of the human body? One that begs to be tortured. Think of all those people who work every time while you celebrate. For you it was 1 year of abstinence, for them a lifetime. Having a holiday during the 2nd lockdown of 2020 was a great opportunity to play a bit around with tape on skin (combining BDSM with Body Art, as we brainstormed about for the PVIN/PAIN magazine). How about some easy reading while you wait for the second lockdown of 2020? Would these subjects & cover stir up your interest.. And still be artful/tasty enough to leave it casually lying on the side table when suspected kinksters are visiting? Yes, we are brainstorming about a new magazine that combines bodyart, kinks, art & BDSM (online + print).  The idea for the magazine is to be non-binary in it's approach. Meaning that it would not be only focussed on straight kinksters, nor only on LGBTQIA+ kinksters. But to show both from their darkest/arty-est/most open side and hopefully be a bridge in between both groups. The question is of course whether there are interested viewers/readers,  models (mf+), photographers, tattoo + other artists, bodypiercers, copywriters and sponsors/advertisers in Belgium to realize a magazine like that. Somewhere around the change of millennia I experimented a bit with something I called Freehand bodypainting . Something like very wild Cobra Art on a living & breathing canvas. No brushes & with paint that is suited for children.  Using the bodies of men & women alike to cover in layers of paint and then see it dry, flake and drop.. all of it to get a shot. At one point we were even invited to do a weekend of live performances of it in a former chapel during an event of the city of Antwerp. Some visitors were surely choqued since the other performance at this venue was a classical musician. An image made for & dedicated to a great lover of high heels and a great friend for almost 3 decades who unexpectedly passed away on May 8th 2020. At 11AM he was still making silly remarks for my birthday (that very same day) and at 2PM he was gone, leaving us all sad & baffled.  Farewell my friend.
